Laurie Linn Selected as 2007 Distinguished Citizen

[ITHACA, NY] Laurie Linn, President of Communique Design & Marketing, Inc., has been chosen by the Baden-Powell Council of the Boy Scouts of America as the 2007 Distinguished Citizen of the Year. Each year, The Council honors individuals who have made significant and enduring contributions to the Tompkins County and Central New York communities, and who embody the principles and values of Council. Laurie Linn joins a distinguished list of past recipients including former Mayor Alan Cohen, James Byrnes and Dr. Frank Rhodes.

Linn has contributed countless hours to the Ithaca and Tompkins County Communities with her involvement through the Chamber of Commerce, Tompkins Cortland Community College and numerous not-for-profit board positions. She is currently the president of the TC3 Foundation Board.

"It's an honor to be recognized," said Linn, "you give to the community you love and when an organization dedicates this award, it's truly heartwarming."

Linn was also selected this year as one of twenty "outstanding women you should know" in the region by Cayuga Radio Group's "Women's Expo 2007."

This year Distinguished Citizen's Dinner will be held May 24, 2007 at Emerson Suites at Ithaca College and will feature a 12-minute dedication video directed by local film producer, Eric C Lindstrom. For more information, contact Laurie Linn at 607-277-8901 ext. 206.
